Lighthouse Road, New Zealand 1990

In November of 1990 my wife and I went in search of the yellow-eyed penguin in South Island New Zealand. As we were driving out Lighthouse Road we hit a pothole in the road. To our disappointment, the engine died and the car came to a complete stop. In hopes of finding assistance at the lighthouse at the end of the road, I started walking and, as always, had my camera and tripod in tow. I stopped at some point in my walk to get this shot of the winding road and rolling hills of the New Zealand countryside.
